Job Responsibilities
- Physical assessment, medication administration, patient education, vital signs, drip titrations, drain maintenance, ventilator support, CRRT maintenance
- Common Medications
- Anticoagulants, Antiplatelet, Betablockers, Pressors, Statins, Sedatives
- Common Diagnoses
- The most common diagnoses patients in MICU are suffering from are respiratory failure, liver failure, acute renal failure, gastrointestinal hemorrhage, hematology/oncology disorders but the patient population is extremely varied.
- Clinical Skills
- IV insertion, foley insertion, feeding tube insertion, EKG monitoring, feeding pump, glucose monitoring, drains, telemetry, ventilator maintenance, CRRT management, drip titration, lab draws, assisting with sterile procedures
